About PROCS

PROCS is an indigenous, non-governmental organization founded on March 10th 2001, by the good will of a self-motivated Ethiopian woman, Ananas Girmai and other sympathizers.
As Arada and Gulele sub-city are areas where children living under destitute conditions, PROCS selected these areas as its target area and has so far been rendering the necessary service in the same.

General objective

To improve the living condition and to bring behavioral change on the life's of children highly vulneragle and at risk of becoming street-living.

Specific objectives

Strengthen a child with his/her education

Highly vulnerable children will be strenghtened in their education by providing study support, study place, school follow up and school meal in the poject period.

Strenghen child-family relationship

Highly vulnerable children will be strengthened in their intact relationship with their parents or guardians in the project period.

Increase scanty economy of children's family

Income of children families will be increased through different income generating activities for mothers.

Help a child grow with full potential

To identify the children's natural talents and potential by offering various extracurricular activities. Also, to give psycho-social support for children through playing, guidance and counseling, awareness training and talent upgrading.

Our Impact in the community

Prevent children from living and working on the streets

Highly vulnerable children will be protected from becoming street-living. These children will be able to perform competent results in school to pursue higher education and vocational skill training.

Upgrade income of children families

Income of children families will be upgraded through different income generating activities and sponsorship program.

Make children out of school be self-reliant

Children out of school will get short term motivational vocational training in order to help them to be self-reliant.

Empower an educated, disciplined and impactful child

We empower a child to be a person of integrity who is well educated, highly disciplined and serves own country.

Strategies

Target group participation

The target group will participate in planning of new projects, identifying their needs and participating in different voluntary activities. Older school children will give tutorial classes to small ones.

Gender sensitivity

High attention will be given for girls because most parents burden their girls with work and they are highly exposed to rape and unwanted pregnancy.
