Education & Income generation program
School Follow-up
Children will get the service in the project period assistance social worker will discuss educational states of teh children with home room teacher. Then social worker will give counseling for children with problems.
Study support
Children will be supported in their weak areas. By: Working closely with school community to identify children's learning capacity and gap. Creating gap identification tools. Providing support
School meal
High school children will get school meal (lunch) in Entoto Amba secondary school.
Income generation program
Mothers of the children will participate in saving and credit (self-help) program by networking with a local NGO called WISE.
steps:
- Training in Microbusiness will be given by WISE
- Loan to start saving and credit will be given by WISE
- PROCS will give transport and perdiem for during training time. Moreover, PROCS provide necessary material to each mother which help to upgrade their business (e.g. 'Injera' machine, sewing machine, chips machine, containers and canvas etc)
- Work place monitoring will be made by PROCS.
Activity 2
Psychosocial support
Counseling and guidance
In these sessions Individual counseling will be given to individual children, Interest Group counseing will be given to children with the same case and Group Counseling will be given parents/guardians and children together get.
Awareness raising trainings
Children and their parents will get the training. Different awareness training will be given to children such as Life skill, Responsibility, Courage, Perseverance and Honesty. parents will get awareness rising on child disciplining, proper parenting and family planning and child abuse.
Playing
Playing games is a very important element for children in order to grow mentally and physically as well as to know their rights and duties. By the time they play games children learn a number of things such as interaction with others enhancing their thinking capacity and also how to behave to the rule and regulation of games. Children will get the chance to play in-door and out-door games according to their choice.
Talent upgrading
Children will participate. They will become a member of one talent group according to their choice. The Talent groups are traditional dancing musical instruments, drama, drawing, football and gardening. The talent programs will be run in the month of July and August due to time constraints.
Hygiene and material support
Children will get two soap a month and shower once a week.
Activity 3
Assistance
Emergency food, clothing and rent assistance
When families fall done to crisis due to sickness or family disintegration, temporary assistance will be given depending on the magnitude of the crisis. These assistances could be food in kind and cash, clothing or rent.
Sponsorship
Most needy families will get the suport in the project period. Three hundred birr will be given every month for food. Families are obliged to save 20 birr in the personal account evey month for urgent needs.
HIV AIDS case support
Families with HIV AIDS case will get medical financial and financial support. moreover when they are sick, they got food assistance in kind.
Study place
Children will get the facility in the project period. (Foreign books should be approved and permitted by concerned body before distributing to the study room).
